Seized plant growth stimulant 2cm in 4 hours
A case of transporting more than 80,000 tubes of plant growth stimulants from China to Hanoi was discovered and arrested by the Environmental Crime Investigation Police Department (PC49) - Hanoi City Police on November 13.
At around 2:00 a.m. on November 13, the reconnaissance force of Team 6 - Hanoi Environmental Crime Investigation Police Department coordinated with Market Management Team No. 11 (Hanoi) on duty near Yen Vien station (Yen Vien town, Gia Lam district, Hanoi) and discovered two large trucks docking with many suspicious signs. The functional force conducted an administrative inspection of these two vehicles.
During the inspection, the authorities clarified that a truck was carrying agricultural products, green beans, and the driver was able to present all the documents and invoices. However, the remaining vehicle, with license plate 29C-21528, was carrying 20 cardboard boxes, containing a total of more than 80,000 tubes of liquid, transparent medicine with Chinese labels printed on the packaging. Preliminary interpretation determined that this medicine was used for sprouts.
According to the instructions on the packaging, this drug can make a sprout grow 1-2cm in 4-5 hours. The driver admitted that the goods were brought from China through the Lang Son border gate to Hanoi for distribution.
The authorities have temporarily detained the truck 29C-21528 and the remaining vehicle for further investigation. On the afternoon of November 13, the authorities sent drug samples for testing to determine whether there were any toxic substances in this growth stimulant./.
