Recall of 17 substandard cosmetics

The Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) has just issued a decision to penalize and recall 17 types of substandard cosmetics.

A product line of EBC is recalled.

Mr. Nguyen Tat Dat, Deputy Director of the Department of Drug Administration, said that these 17 products were all produced by EBC Vietnam Company Limited (No. 262/5 Cach Mang Thang Tam, Ward 10, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City).

This company committed administrative violations by producing cosmetics that did not comply with the basic principles and standards of “good manufacturing practices for cosmetics” of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (CGMP-ASEAN) or equivalent recognized by the ASEAN Cosmetics Council; Trading cosmetics with product information files (PIF) stored at the enterprise that did not meet the provisions of law; Trading cosmetics with formulas that were not in accordance with the approved declaration files.

For these violations, EBC Vietnam Co., Ltd. was administratively fined VND 105 million. In addition, the Drug Administration of Vietnam has requested the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to withdraw the cosmetic product declaration receipt numbers of 17 products announced by EBC Vietnam Co., Ltd. with formulas inconsistent with the approved declaration records mentioned above.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam requires EBC Vietnam Company Limited to recall and destroy all cosmetic products of 17 products announced by EBC Vietnam Company Limited with formulas inconsistent with the approved announcement dossier mentioned above.

List of 17 types of cosmetics proposed to have their cosmetic declaration acceptance certificates revoked:
