Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam (Long's father) beamed with joy: "Since childhood, he has been passionate about Mathematics. When he was in primary school, he won a bronze medal in the Childhood Mathematics Olympiad. When he was in secondary school, he was the number 1 "math tree" of Dang Thai Mai Secondary School with the third prize in the province and the silver medal in Violimpic Mathematics. Studying at Phan Boi Chau specialized mathematics school, Long had the environment and opportunity to develop his passion and ability in mathematics. The second prize in the province and the second prize in the National Mathematics Olympiad in grade 12 affirmed Long's position as the "number 1 mathematician" in this traditional school."

Like many other parents, when hearing the news that their child was selected for the national Math team, Long's parents were somewhat worried. Joining the team requires a lot of studying, there is no time left for other subjects, while the university entrance exam is approaching... But Long convinced his parents with his own scientific study method. Long shared: "Joining the team, the pressure is very high. For several months, I devoted all my efforts to studying math. To achieve high results in the national excellent student exam and not neglect the university entrance exam, I made a reasonable schedule for myself, found an effective study method that does not take much time. Besides, the school also created conditions for us to take make-up classes for other subjects outside of the team's study time, so studying for the university entrance exam is not too difficult..."

Long's study method is to master the knowledge of textbooks, practice math skills through different sets of questions, exercises, and types of math, and only study when he feels alert, comfortable, and receptive, never trying to "stick" to books when "no words can get into his head". While having to focus on reviewing for the exam with the team, reviewing for the university entrance exam in physics, chemistry, and biology for group B, Long still takes time to play his favorite sports: chess, soccer, table tennis, etc. It is the harmonious combination of studying and playing, playing and studying that has brought positive results. In addition, Long is also an active member of the Facebook page "University Entrance Exam Reviewers Association", through which members exchange exam review experiences, test-taking methods, and share with each other reference materials, "through that, I can learn from other members about my shortcomings and share with them the knowledge I have. That is also an interesting way to review."

In the recent national excellent student exam, Long won second place, entered the training team to compete in the international Math competition; the average score of the 12th grade subject was 9.2 and in this year's university entrance exam, Long scored 28.75 points (specifically: Math 9.5, Physics 9.75, Chemistry: 9.5, rounded to 29 points) becoming co-valedictorian of Hanoi University of Pharmacy (the other 2 valedictorians both scored 29 points, namely Le Duc Duan and Doan Trung San) and is the candidate with the highest university entrance score in the province at the present time. According to his prediction, the result of the B block exam to enter Hanoi Medical University is about 28 points.

Sharing his dream, Long said: “I am a national excellent student and was admitted directly to university. But I want to test myself and prove my ability through the university entrance exam. I took both block A and B exams at Hanoi Medical University and Hanoi University of Pharmacy. My dream is to become a good surgeon and have access to the world's advanced medicine.

There are 5 doctors on both sides of his family. Studying medicine and pharmacy is his wish. Long is confident in his knowledge, in the factors to become a good doctor (carefulness, perseverance, decisiveness) and above all, his love for people.
