Mr. Peskov also stressed that Russia through official channels does not send volunteers to the conflict zone.
"We know that there are Russian citizens who voluntarily went to the region to protect Russians against the aggressive actions of the Ukrainian armed forces," the spokesman said when asked to comment on the statement of Russian State Duma deputy Sergei Zheleznyak on the "60 Minutes" program that new volunteers would come to Ukraine to join the fight.
According to Mr. Peskov, it is necessary to ask Kiev why the current situation in Donbass exists. Intelligence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) said that Kiev continues to concentrate military equipment near the border.
