Strange animal attacks forest ranger, one woman injured

(Baonghean) -A group of 5 women went into the forest to cut down glitter trees to sell. All 5 of them slept in the forest and were attacked by a strange animal, injuring 1 person.

At around 8:00 p.m. on June 8, in Pha Den forest, Ban Dom 2 (Chau Phong commune, Quy Chau district, Nghe An), 5 women including Lo Thi Duc, Vi Thi Hung, Lo Thi Nam, Vi Thi Diep and Lo Thi Thoa went into the forest to find glitter to sell to make a living during the lean season.

However, by evening, they still hadn’t found much, so the five sisters decided to sleep in the forest to continue working the next day. They set up a temporary shelter in the Pha Den area to cook and sleep overnight. After finishing eating, the five of them were sitting around when they heard rustling sounds from outside the shelter and smelled a burning smell. Suddenly, they saw a strange animal appear, baring its teeth and screaming, causing the five of them to panic.

At this time, all 5 women, one holding a knife, the other holding a stick for self-defense. Seeing that, the animal left. But a moment later, it returned and suddenly attacked, causing Vi Thi Diep to be bitten on the hand. On the morning of June 9, Vi Thi Diep was taken to the emergency room at Quy Chau Hospital and had to receive 10 stitches.

Previously, from September to November 2010, in Quy Hop district, Nghe An, a strange animal continuously attacked and injured many people. After several months of searching, local people were able to kill the wild animal, a very ferocious poisonous monkey.
