Thu Minh hosts MAMA 2017 awards ceremony

The organizers of the MAMA 2017 awards ceremony have officially confirmed that singer Thu Minh will attend MAMA Premiere in Vietnam 2017 as the host of the program. She will be the star honored to step onto the stage to give a speech at the awards night as well as open the MAMA week taking place in 3 Asian countries.

The position she took on was chosen based on the criteria of being a top star, a music icon, and an influential figure in the entertainment industry of the host country. The stars who have held the position of opening host for this award ceremony are all big names in Asia such as Bi Rain, Lee Byung Hyun, Lee Seung Ri and this year Song Joong Ki in Hong Kong and Thu Minh in Vietnam.

Thu Minh confirmed that she will attend MAMA as the host of the program.

Previously, in 2013, singer Thu Minh won the title of Best Asian Artist at the MAMA awards ceremony. At the same time, “dance queen” Thu Minh was also the only Vietnamese artist named in the MAMA award nomination list that year.

As for Toc Tien, she is not only in the top 5 nominees for the Most Breakthrough Vietnamese Artist award of MAMA 2017 alongside 4 other names: Dong Nhi, Son Tung M-TP, Chi Dan and Soobin Hoang Son, but also prepared 2 of her hit songs of the year and remade them to send to the audience.

Toc Tien shared: "I have been singing professionally for nearly 15 years since I was a 13-year-old girl, so the awards now only bring me enough excitement, not too many intense emotions like the early days.

But with this year's MAMA, Tien feels even happier when her name is in the top 5 nominations of an international award, and this year is the first year the award has its own event in Vietnam."

With the spirit of representing Vietnam to perform at an international award ceremony like MAMA, Toc Tien was extremely nervous but also full of confidence.
