(Baonghean) -This afternoon, September 22, a working delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Deputy Minister Dao Xuan Hoc inspected the flood recovery work in Con Cuong district.
Accompanying the delegation were leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Nghe An.
The rains from September 10 to 14 and from September 19 to 20 in Con Cuong district with an average rainfall of 250 mm to 360 mm combined with rain from upstream caused widespread flooding, damaging rice, crops, traffic works, irrigation works, state and people's properties, and causing traffic jams. The total value of damage caused by the floods was more than 52 billion VND. During the floods, the district deployed rescue work and repaired damaged roads.
The delegation inspected the flood situation and worked with the leaders of Con Cuong district.
After working with the district People's Committee to grasp the damage caused by floods and the remedial measures of Con Cuong district, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry's working delegation inspected a number of severely damaged irrigation and traffic works in the district. Deputy Minister Dao Xuan Hoc highly appreciated the direction of flood relief work of the sectors and levels of Con Cuong, and at the same time requested the district to strengthen the forces in the area to work with the people to promptly overcome the situation, solve the housing for flooded households, provide timely food relief, prevent people from going hungry and cold, urgently evacuate households in areas at risk of flooding and landslides, stabilize their lives soon, and prepare specific plans to cope with the complicated situation of floods.
