Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dao Xuan Hoc works in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) -This afternoon, March 7, the working delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Deputy Minister Dao Xuan Hoc worked with leaders of Nghe An province on irrigation, dykes & PCBL, clean water & rural environmental sanitation.
Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of relevant departments, branches and sectors received and worked with the Delegation.
At the working session, the delegation listened to the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development report on the results and existing difficulties of irrigation, dyke management, flood and storm prevention, clean water and rural environmental sanitation in 2011 and the tasks that the province is focusing on in 2012 to promptly respond to floods and limit damage caused by natural disasters. At the same time, it recommended the Ministry to soon allocate capital to help the province speed up the construction progress of key irrigation works and repay debts for completed works; implement a number of projects to respond to climate change, especially the project of preventing salinity and keeping fresh water in Lam River; support rescue vehicles and funding for drought prevention in the spring crop of 2012.

Talking to the provincial leaders, comrade Dao Xuan Hoc emphasized: Nghe An is a province located in a harsh climate zone, with frequent droughts and natural disasters. The Ministry supports and creates conditions for Nghe An to participate in programs and projects on climate change prevention, ODA disaster prevention and clean water and rural environmental sanitation programs. He acknowledged the province's proposals and assigned the agencies to directly provide specific advice. He said that the Ministry is currently organizing a model for managing clean water and rural environmental sanitation, Nghe An should promote the apparatus of the Center for Clean Water and Rural Environmental Sanitation to help the province effectively implement the program.
