Prime Minister appoints Mr. Nguyen The Ky as General Director of VOV

The Prime Minister has just signed a decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen The Ky - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department as General Director of VOV.

On March 8, 2016, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung signed Decision No. 367/QD-TTg on the transfer and appointment of Mr. Nguyen The Ky, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, to hold the position of General Director of the Voice of Vietnam (replacing Mr. Nguyen Dang Tien).

The decision takes effect from the date of signing.

Mr. Nguyen The Ky has just been appointed as General Director of VOV.

Mr. Nguyen The Ky was born in 1960, hometown Nghe An province. Academic title and degree: Associate Professor - Doctor.

Mr. Nguyen The Ky has held the following positions: Deputy Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station; Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper; Secretary of Nam Dan District Party Committee, Deputy Head of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Head of the Press and Publishing Department under the Central Propaganda Department; Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.

At the 12th Party Congress last January, Mr. Nguyen The Ky was elected as a member of the 12th Central Executive Committee.

Previously, on February 29, 2016, the Prime Minister signed a decision on Mr. Nguyen Dang Tien, General Director of Voice of Vietnam, to retire from March 1, 2016./.
