The Prime Minister approved the position of Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
On the morning of December 24, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to present the Decision approving the position of Chairman of the City People's Committee to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented Decision No. 2318/QD-TTg dated December 20, 2015 approving the election results for the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and the Prime Minister's Decision to dismiss Mr. Le Hoang Quan from the position of Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Also at the ceremony, the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City presented the Prime Minister's Decision approving the election results for the positions of members of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to Mr. Le Dong Phong, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Major General, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department; Mr. Vo Van Hoan, member of the City Party Committee, Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Su Ngoc Anh, member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Ms. Phan Thi Thang, member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Finance; Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Transport.
In addition, the City leaders presented Decision No. 2319/QD-TTg dated December 20, 2015 of the Prime Minister approving the dismissal from the position of Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to take on new duties and retire according to the regime, including: Mr. Tat Thanh Cang, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, taking on new duties; Mr. Le Manh Ha, taking on new duties; Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, retiring according to the regime; Mr. Hua Ngoc Thuan, retiring before the age according to Decree No. 26/2015/ND-CP of the Government; Mr. Nguyen Huu Tin, retiring from work waiting to reach retirement age according to Decree No. 26/2015/ND-CP of the Government.
The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City also handed over retirement decisions to a number of comrades who were former members of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and former Directors of several departments and branches of the City, including: Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Lieutenant General, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police; Mr. Vo Van Luan, former Chief of Office of the City People's Committee; Mr. Thai Van Re, former Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, retired before the age; Ms. Dao Thi Huong Lan, former Director of the Department of Finance, retired according to the regime.
