Prime Minister wishes scientists and intellectuals a Happy New Year
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2019, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited and wished a happy new year to Professors Vu Khieu, Hoang Tuy and Nguyen Van Hieu.
Visiting Professor, Hero of Labor, Culturalist Vu Khieu, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc wished the Professor good health and highly appreciated the Professor's important contributions in laying the foundation for the development of Vietnam's sociology sector.
Professor Vu Khieu, 103 years old this year, has written hundreds of works and scientific works on Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought and many other fields such as philosophy, ethics and culture.

The Prime Minister visited and wished a happy new year to Professor and Academician Nguyen Van Hieu, who has made many contributions to the innovation and development of Vietnam's revolutionary science. Professor Nguyen Van Hieu shared with the Prime Minister that despite his advanced age, he is still researching and completing a project related to flood prevention, about 1,000 pages long, to contribute to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Visiting and talking with Professor Hoang Tuy, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc acknowledged the Professor's contributions to Vietnam's Mathematics industry.
In 1964, Professor Hoang Tuy invented the Tuy slice method, which is considered a milestone marking the birth of a new mathematical discipline, global optimization theory. The professor has more than 100 scientific works published in prestigious international journals on many fields of mathematics.
