Prime Minister sends congratulatory letter on historic victory of U23 Vietnam

Here is the full text of the congratulatory letter that Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent to U23 Vietnam:

Hanoi, January 20, 2018

Dear: Vietnam U23 Football Team

Tonight, football fans across the country were extremely happy with the excellent results of the Vietnam U23 Team. With the brave spirit, will and mettle of the Vietnamese people, under the direction of coach Park Hang Seo, our team won the penalty shootout after a 3-3 draw after 120 minutes of dramatic play. With this meaningful victory, the Vietnam U23 Team entered the semi-finals of the U23 Asia for the first time. This is a great source of pride for Vietnamese sports in general and Vietnamese football in particular.

On behalf of the Government, I would like to send my warmest congratulations to the entire Vietnam U23 Football Team and personally to Coach Park Hang Seo. I hope that our entire delegation will continue to promote the achievements, uphold the spirit of solidarity and discipline, maintain the belief in victory and determination to compete in the semi-final match.
