The content of the letter is as follows:

On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2020), on behalf of the Government, I would like to send my warmest regards and best wishes to the delegates attending the Conference to meet and honor outstanding journalists in particular and all cadres and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and journalists nationwide in general.

Over the past nearly a century, since the day Thanh Nien newspaper - the pioneer newspaper of Vietnam's revolutionary press, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, published its first issue, under the leadership of the Party, our country's revolutionary press force has continuously grown, affirmed its important role and made great contributions to the cause of national liberation in the past and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland today.

Over the years, the press has closely followed the Party's policies and guidelines, vividly reflecting all aspects of political, economic and social life; actively propagating good values, new factors, models, good practices and examples of good people and good deeds; bringing the image of the friendly, peaceful and amicable Vietnamese country and people to friends around the world.

Our journalists are always at the forefront of the struggle to protect the independence, sovereignty and sacred territorial integrity of the Fatherland as well as to protect the Party and the regime; actively fight against corruption, waste and negativity; criticize signs of moral and lifestyle degradation in society; and serve as a forum for the masses to contribute their opinions and exercise their right to supervise the administration of governments at all levels from the central to local levels.

Many reporters have not been afraid of hardships and sacrifices, willing to "go through life and death" in the "rain of bombs and bullets" of war or face "dangers", promptly present at "hot spots" and "dangerous epidemics" to fulfill the noble mission of journalists; among them, there are faces today who are delegates attending the Conference to meet and honor exemplary journalists chaired and organized by the Central Propaganda Department.

On this occasion, I would like to warmly commend and appreciate the great contributions of generations of journalists across the country over the past years; I would like to congratulate the seven veteran journalists and nearly 200 outstanding journalists, representing more than 41,000 journalists across the country, who were honored at this Conference.

In the coming time, I call on the Vietnamese revolutionary press to closely follow the political viewpoints, the leadership of the Party, the laws of the State, and developments in the domestic and international situation to fully, accurately, and promptly reflect the social life of the country, serving the revolutionary cause of the Party and the people.

The press and journalists must demonstrate justice, reflect the "mainstream" of society and the country, and "support righteousness and destroy evil." Each article, news report, and image must spread good values and positive energy, create trust and consensus in society, and contribute to arousing and nurturing the aspiration for a strong and prosperous Vietnam.

In the context of the current rapid development of social media, journalism brings many opportunities but also countless challenges and hardships. More than ever, the team of journalists needs to always cultivate their mettle, professionalism, professional ethics, uphold core values and affirm the glorious mission of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism.

I wish the Conference to meet and honor our outstanding journalists a great success./.
