Prime Minister meets with President of Haitian Parliament
Within the framework of the official visit to Haiti, on the morning of March 29 (Vietnam time), Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation had a meeting with President of the National Assembly and President of the Haitian Senate Simon Dieuseul Desras and Vice President of the National Assembly and President of the House of Representatives Jacques Stevenson Thimoléon.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung expressed his pleasure to visit the Haitian National Assembly and sincerely thanked the thoughtful and respectful reception that the National Assembly leaders gave to the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan conveyed greetings and warm sentiments from the leaders and deputies of the Vietnamese National Assembly to the leaders and deputies of the Haitian National Assembly.
Haitian National Assembly leaders highly appreciated Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's visit, considering it an event that opens a new chapter in relations between the two countries.
National Assembly Chairman and Senate President Dieuseul Desras highly appreciated the participation of the Vietnamese National Assembly leaders in the visit, demonstrating the importance of the role of the two countries' parliaments in supporting and promoting the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Haiti.
The two sides were pleased to see that the relationship between the two countries is developing very strongly and dynamically despite geographical distance, cultural and linguistic differences.
This cooperation results from the friendship, solidarity and mutual support of the people of the two countries in the past struggle for national liberation and in the current cause of national construction and development.
The two sides were pleased with the recent significant increase in economic relations between the two countries, especially in telecommunications with the operation of the NATCOM joint venture in Haiti and cooperation in ensuring food security for Haiti.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said that the goal of the Vietnamese delegation's visit is to discuss with the Haitian Government measures to continuously consolidate existing cooperation contents, expand cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, infrastructure construction, energy development, agriculture, exchange of experts in many fields... and at the same time gradually perfect the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.
The two sides also exchanged some experiences within the framework of legislative activities of the two countries' National Assemblies.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung conveyed the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung to the leaders of the Haitian National Assembly to visit Vietnam in the near future.
The Prime Minister also said that in March 2015, the Vietnamese National Assembly will host the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) with the theme "Parliament in implementing sustainable development goals".
The Prime Minister conveyed the invitation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, hoping that the Haitian National Assembly would send a representative to lead the National Assembly to attend this important Conference.
During his official visit to Haiti, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung laid a wreath at the Monument to Haiti's Heroes and visited the headquarters of NATCOM Company - a joint venture between Vietnam and Haiti in the telecommunications sector.
The Prime Minister was pleased with the success of a Vietnamese enterprise investing abroad like Viettel Military Telecommunications Group, and highly appreciated the efforts and struggles of the unit in providing telecommunications services at competitive prices, creating conditions for the Haitian people to access modern telecommunications services...
The Prime Minister hopes that NATCOM Company in particular and Viettel Military Telecommunications Group in general will continue to make efforts to invest and build a strong brand in Haiti with competitive prices and services, by providing convenient services to the poor, contributing to the development of cooperative relations between Vietnam and Haiti.
On the morning of March 29 (Vietnam time), Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and the Vietnamese delegation left Haiti to return home, successfully concluding the official visit to the Republic of Haiti.
