Hungarian PM warns of attack on Brussels if freedom and sovereignty must be protected
(Baonghean.vn) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned of an attack and "occupation" of Brussels due to changes in European Union policy; at the same time, he emphasized the importance of preserving the country's cultural and historical heritage in the face of strong impacts from outside forces.

At a gala dinner dedicated to the anniversary of the 1948 Hungarian Revolution, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned against attacking Brussels to protect Hungary's sovereignty, Russian news agency Ria Novosti reported.
“If we want to protect Hungary's freedom and sovereignty, we have no choice but to occupy Brussels,” Prime Minister Viktor Orban said, citing the need for a more assertive stance within European institutions.
Prime Minister Orban added that, for Hungary, freedom is when "there is no master above us." The Hungarian leader stressed the importance of preserving the country's cultural and historical heritage in the face of strong influence from outside forces.
According to Prime Minister Orban, Budapest will only benefit from peace, while affirming that Hungary does not want war.
Earlier, Prime Minister Orban said that the European Union's (EU) strategy towards Ukraine had failed not only on the battlefield, where "the situation was dire", but also on the political front, where Brussels "almost got involved in the conflict".
Prime Minister Orban warned that Ukraine's EU integration process itself would cause "serious problems" for Europe, even without war. Therefore, the Hungarian leader called on the European Commission (EC) to make efforts to "protect European interests against Ukraine, not Ukraine's interests against Europe".
