Israeli Prime Minister: Gaza ceasefire talks to be held on August 15
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that ceasefire talks in Gaza will be held on August 15.

According to RIA Novosti on August 9, the Office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will send negotiators to a ceasefire meeting in the Gaza Strip on August 15.
“At the request of the United States and the mediators, Israel will send a delegation on August 15 to negotiate, at a location to be determined, to agree on the details of the implementation of the framework agreement,” the statement said.
Earlier, Egypt, Qatar and the US called on Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement to resume ceasefire talks on August 14-15. The leaders of the three countries said they were ready to make a final proposal to reach an agreement.
Meanwhile, the new leader of Hamas Sinwar - the main organizer of the surprise attack on southern Israel in early October 2023, is said to be very tough in his efforts to negotiate an end to the conflict.
It is unclear how Sinwar, who is at the top of Israel’s most-wanted list, will carry out the diplomatic duties in place of Haniyeh. Haniyeh has been traveling between Arab capitals for months on diplomatic missions, but observers say Sinwar has the final say on any deal. Observers say Sinwar often delays or cuts off communication during the negotiations, causing the effort to stall.
