Malaysian Prime Minister reveals details of MH17 case

According to Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, with reports from the scene of the Boeing-777 passenger plane being shot down, investigators need a few more weeks to make a final conclusion.

Unian news agency on September 7 quoted Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak as saying that passenger plane MH-17 was shot down by a surface-to-air missile, and the missile's origin was initially determined to be "from an area controlled by separatist forces in Eastern Ukraine."

According to the Malaysian Prime Minister, reports from the crash site of the Boeing 777 plane shot down in the Donetsk region on July 17 are "compelling enough".

“What we need now is to continue to collect more evidence before bringing the matter to justice,” said Mr. Najib Razak, adding that investigators will need at least a few more weeks to search for important evidence in the wreckage of the ill-fated plane.

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 passenger plane crashed on July 17 in eastern Ukraine. All 298 passengers on board, including 193 Dutch citizens, were killed.

Different sources confirm that flight MH17 was shot down by a missile.

Throughout the past time, the Kiev government and the separatist forces in Eastern Ukraine have continuously blamed each other for the above incident.

Western countries, including the United States, affirmed their support for the Ukrainian government, while Russia called for a transparent, open and prompt investigation.
