Malaysian Prime Minister expresses his views on the East Sea issue
Prime Minister Najib Razak affirmed that Malaysia firmly maintains its position that all parties with claims in the East Sea must resolve disputes in accordance with and based on international law.

On November 15, in an interview with Nikkei Asian Review, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak made the above statement in response to the ruling of the Arbitration Court in The Hague (Netherlands) in the Philippines' lawsuit against China regarding disputes in the East Sea.
Mr. Najib stressed that it is very important for all parties to respect the diplomatic and legal process, and resolve disputes and differences peacefully through negotiations.
Speaking during his visit to Japan on the same day, Mr. Najib Razak stated that all parties, including Japan, need to play a constructive role in ensuring peace, security and stability in the East Sea region. According to him, disputes in the East Sea are very complicated and need to be resolved calmly and reasonably through dialogue.
