Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc: Covid-19 epidemic is basically under control thanks to creative and drastic measures
According to the Prime Minister, in the recent fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, new and creative measures have been implemented.
On the afternoon of August 21, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a meeting of the Government Standing Committee to discuss solutions to prevent and combat Covid-19.
Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the Prime Minister assessed that under the leadership of the Party and State, the epidemic prevention work has been basically more synchronous, timely, and drastic, especially the people have been calmer. Up to now, the epidemic has been basically controlled.

In the recent fight against the epidemic, new and creative measures have been implemented. These include the establishment of a special standing unit of the Ministry of Health in Da Nang City, and hundreds of medical staff have been sent to the Central region. When a new outbreak occurs, the zoning and isolation work is very timely, mobilizing political forces to participate. In addition, new technologies and new applications have been strongly applied to the fight against the epidemic, especially testing and tracing Covid-19 cases and contacts with infected cases.
Forecasting that the epidemic will continue to develop complicatedly, the Prime Minister asked Government members to discuss and propose new measures suitable to the current context.
Reporting at the meeting, Acting Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that the epidemic situation in Da Nang and Quang Nam is under control, with the number of recorded cases decreasing in recent weeks. In the next few days, Da Nang and Quang Nam may still record sporadic cases due to the source of infection existing in the community before being contained and controlled.
In Hai Duong, the epidemic situation is also basically under control, in the past 3 days no new cases of the disease have been detected.
In the coming time, in some localities, there may continue to be sporadic cases of Covid-19 from undetected cases, with the potential to spread in the community. In addition, there may continue to be more deaths among patients with serious underlying medical conditions./.
