Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held a meeting in Ha Tinh about the mass fish deaths.
Regarding the mass death of marine fish, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that any organization or individual that violates will be strictly punished.
On May 1, in Ha Tinh City, Ha Tinh Province, on the International Labor Day holiday, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a meeting with leaders of localities affected by unusual deaths of seafood.
Also attending were Deputy Prime Ministers Trinh Dinh Dung, Vu Duc Dam, and Ministers of several relevant Ministries and Central agencies.

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc stated that immediately after receiving information about the incident in Ha Tinh, the Government promptly directed and sent Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung twice to the Central region to work with local leaders and ministries to handle the situation.
The main task of the meeting is to propose solutions, help stabilize people's thoughts, control security, order and social safety in localities experiencing incidents with the highest political determination.
Besides, it provides solutions to stabilize people's lives in the long term, including the issue of fishing.
The government is committed and boldly says that it will not let similar environmental situations happen again, so that people can go out to sea to fish and live normally.
To thoroughly handle this incident, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Science and Technology and related ministries and branches to investigate and clarify the cause of this disaster.
If domestic experts are not capable of finding the cause, hire foreign scientists to research and find the cause.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that any organization or individual who violates the law must be investigated and clarified based on scientific evidence and strictly punished. The Government is determined to protect the legitimate rights of the people. This is the responsibility of the Government, but the conclusions must have a solid scientific basis.
The Prime Minister also stated that the State will support fishermen both materially and in purchasing fish. The State is fully capable of ensuring the livelihood of the people.
The Prime Minister also praised major commercial banks for waiving interest on loans for fishermen affected by the environmental incident for six months, to share the burden with the people. The meeting is currently ongoing./.
