Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visits Cuban President Fidel Castro

On the morning of November 28, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited the Cuban Embassy in Hanoi, laid a wreath, and paid tribute to Cuban President Fidel Castro Ruz.

Writing in the condolence book, the Prime Minister wrote: We are deeply moved and saddened by the passing of Comrade Fidel Castro Ruz, the historic and legendary leader of Cuba, the steadfast and courageous leader of the international communist and workers' movement. On behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, we would like to send our deepest condolences to the Government and people of Cuba and the family of Comrade Fidel.

The life and career of Comrade Fidel is a beautiful symbol of the spirit of steadfastness and courage in the struggle for the independence and freedom of the Cuban Fatherland, as well as the movement for national liberation and against imperialism and tyranny, against racism, for peace and justice in the world.

For the Vietnamese people, Comrade Fidel is a close and loyal friend, a person with great contributions to building, nurturing and developing the special brotherly relationship, comprehensive cooperation and complete mutual trust between Vietnam and Cuba.

Comrade Fidel always stood side by side with Vietnam during the arduous years of the struggle for independence and national reunification as well as in the process of building and developing the country. The image of Comrade Fidel at the Quang Tri battlefield and the immortal words: "For Vietnam, Cuba is willing to sacrifice its own blood" will forever be engraved in the hearts of the Vietnamese people.

The Prime Minister expressed his firm belief that with the steadfast revolutionary will fostered by leader Fidel, the Cuban people will continue to firmly defend their independence and sovereignty and successfully build socialism in a free and beautiful Cuba.

On behalf of the Government and people of Cuba, Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Herminio López Díaz expressed his sincere gratitude for the affection that the Party, State, Government and people of Vietnam have shown to Cuban President Fidel Castro.
