Japanese Prime Minister supports Vietnam's stance on the East Sea
According to chinhphu.vn, on the afternoon of July 1, at the Japanese Prime Minister's Office, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with Japanese Prime Minister Noda Yoshihiko.
Prime Minister Noda affirmed to continue supporting Vietnam through providing ODA and said he would study Vietnam's proposals on enhancing cooperation, including technology transfer in agriculture.
He expressed his support for Vietnam's stance on ensuring peace, stability, freedom and safety of navigation in the East Sea, and resolving disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked the Japanese government and pledged to use Japan's aid effectively. Japan is the largest investment partner in Vietnam, with two-way trade reaching 21 billion USD in 2011.
