Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh dialogues with Vietnamese women

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a dialogue conference with Vietnamese women on the topic: "Promoting gender equality and promoting the role of women in socio-economic development".

The conference was held in person and online in 63 provinces and cities, with the participation of representatives of ministries and branches, along with more than 5,000 delegates representing cadres, members, and outstanding women in various fields. The conference was held to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2022) and Vietnamese Women's Day October 20.

WOMEN'S INCREASING CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY

In her report to the conference, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga stated that the dialogue is a concrete demonstration of the deep affection and concern of the Party, State and Prime Minister's leaders for the women's movement and the progress of Vietnamese women.

The dialogue conference is an opportunity for women and all levels of the Women's Union to express their feelings, wishes and recommendations to the Prime Minister and ministries and branches with the hope of continued attention, creating conditions for comprehensive development, promoting the role and contribution of women to the overall development of the country.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent to the ladies, mothers, sisters, girls, and delegates his respectful greetings, warm regards, and best wishes on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and Vietnamese Women's Day October 20.

"We need to look back at what has been done and what has not been done to continue to have solutions to improve, motivate, and inspire women to work and contribute better and better," the Prime Minister said, requesting that in a democratic, frank, and sincere spirit, delegates clearly state their thoughts, aspirations, difficulties, and problems; and that ministries and branches respond responsibly to issues that are still troubling, worrying, and worrying women nationwide.

At the dialogue conference, the Prime Minister and leaders of ministries and branches listened to, shared, answered and responded to the opinions of female delegates around 3 groups of topics: Women and economic development; Women and social security issues, gender equality; Women and future generations. Related opinions on mechanisms and policies to promote the role of women in economic development, support women in starting businesses, participating in building new rural areas; support women in accessing resources such as technology and capital.

Delegates also raised questions about vocational training for female workers in rural areas; support for screening for some common cancers in women; specific solutions to achieve the target of female cadres; nationality registration policy for children migrating to Vietnam; maternity regime for women; building a safe living environment and comprehensive development for children; parenting education programs; management of non-public preschools; effective management of information on social networks, etc.

At the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh presented flowers to the Standing Committee of the Central Presidium of the Vietnam Women's Union on the occasion of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20). The Prime Minister also presented flowers and gifts to 10 outstanding female entrepreneurs who participated in the Project "Supporting Women Entrepreneurs for the 2017-2025 period".

ENSURING AN ENVIRONMENT FOR WOMEN TO DEVELOP IN ALL ASPECTS

In his concluding remarks at the Conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the image of a mother is the most beautiful symbol of Vietnamese women, a symbol of sacrifice, kindness, and responsibility, and that fine tradition has always been promoted through generations of Vietnamese women.

Vietnamese women throughout the ages have always played a special role, making great contributions to the process of building, protecting and developing the country. Regardless of the circumstances or job positions, Vietnamese women always shine with the qualities of "Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and responsible" as the 8 golden words that Uncle Ho bestowed upon Vietnamese women.

The Prime Minister also shared the hardships and difficulties and acknowledged, thanked and appreciated the contributions of women in more than 2 years with the Party, State and people in both fighting the pandemic, developing the socio-economy, protecting independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, maintaining political stability, social order and safety, promoting foreign affairs and integration. Although known as the weaker sex, the Prime Minister said that it is the delicacy and softness of women, it is the "soft power", the perseverance, resilience and flexibility of women.

Reviewing the results as well as the shortcomings and limitations in promoting gender equality and promoting the role of women in socio-economic development in recent times, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that in the coming time, it is necessary to promote the role and great potential, enhance the status of women, identify the responsibility of caring for women as the responsibility of the entire political system, helping women to perform many tasks and functions; building and developing the female contingent is an objective requirement and an important requirement of the Party and State's personnel work.

The Prime Minister also requested ministries and sectors, through this conference, to review and improve mechanisms and policies for women to develop in all aspects, ensuring their legitimate rights.
