Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife met with the Vietnamese community in Kuwait.
On the evening of November 16, local time, in the capital city of Kuwait, on the occasion of an official visit to the State of Kuwait, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife met with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Kuwait.
Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Standing member of the 14th Party Congress Document Subcommittee; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs; and leaders of several central ministries and branches.
Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Kuwait was the first country to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam after 1975; Kuwait always admires Vietnam's heroic historical and cultural traditions; Kuwait is also impressed by Vietnam's development achievements since the war, especially the successful Doi Moi process, from a poor and backward country, it has risen to the 32nd largest economy in the world, the Happiness Index assessed by the United Nations has always been improved...

The Prime Minister stated that the Vietnam-Kuwait relationship is not accidental; Kuwait welcomed the Prime Minister and his delegation with great respect, with Vietnamese flags flying from the airport to the city center. Although the number is not large, the Vietnamese community in Kuwait is actively contributing to the economic development and social life of Kuwait. Informing the Vietnamese community living in Kuwait about the country's socio-economic development achievements in all fields, the Prime Minister stated that the Vietnamese community abroad is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation; whether Vietnamese people are abroad or in the country, they all enjoy legitimate and legal rights and benefits. The Party and State are increasingly perfecting institutions, creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community living abroad.
Regarding the work of the overseas Vietnamese community, the Prime Minister hopes that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will always collect comments and contributions from the people; there should be a more convenient website for people to share their thoughts, aspirations, and contribute their opinions; the Embassy must have a regular address for people to contact and provide immediate support. Regarding the desire to establish a direct flight route between the two countries, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Government is considering and encouraging airlines to consider opening connecting flights between countries in the Middle East region.

The Prime Minister expressed his impressions and thanked the people for sharing their thoughts, feelings, and aspirations; wishing them good health, happiness, and always looking towards their homeland and country; and always being united, attached, sharing, and helping each other.
