Prime Minister approves project to raise the level of National Press Awards

The Prime Minister has just approved the Project to improve the quality of the National Press Awards with the aim of selecting and awarding high-quality press works with attractive content and form, achieving great social effectiveness, and making positive contributions to the cause of building and defending the country. Through the Awards, it will contribute to encouraging and promoting the emulation movement of creative labor of journalists nationwide; discovering and nurturing journalistic talents in society.

National Press Awards

According to regulations, the National Press Awards are held annually. The following year, press works produced in the previous year are judged, selected, evaluated and awarded. Participants in the National Press Awards are all Vietnamese citizens whose press works have been published in the mass media by legally operating domestic press agencies.

Press works selected to participate in the National Press Awards must achieve high quality in terms of information content, form of expression and social effectiveness of the work. Every year, based on the press development situation and funding sources, the National Press Awards Council considers and decides on types of awards suitable to the development requirements of types and fields of press activities in each period, publicly announcing the award structure for each type of award and the amount of prize money for the awards.

The organization of selection, appraisal and awarding is decided by the National Press Awards Council.
