Thai Prime Minister affirms no cabinet reshuffle
On March 19, answering the press after overcoming the opposition's vote of no confidence in the House of Representatives, Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva affirmed that he would not reshuffle the cabinet. "There is more than a month left. Government members are all focused on solving people's and political problems, moving towards the election," said Mr. Abhisit.
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thuagsuban also shared the same opinion with Prime Minister Abhisit. Mr. Suthep emphasized that there is no need to reshuffle the cabinet. The remaining 6 weeks of the coalition government will focus on working with all its might. Mr. Suthep also called on parties to prepare for the election.

Responding to a question from a member of the Thai Industry Council about the reason for dissolving the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said that this is the right time for the people to make a decision. In the past, the Government has implemented many important policies, promoted projects, and amended the Constitution and laws. Now it is only waiting for the Election Commission to complete the division of electoral districts. Mr. Abhisit said that it is time for the Thai people to make a decision. If they want these policies to continue, they will choose the Democrat Party. Previously, Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva announced that he would dissolve the House of Representatives in early May.
According to the Thai Constitution, after the dissolution of the House of Representatives, elections will be held within 45-60 days. Currently, parties in Thailand, especially the major parties, have begun their election campaigns.
