On the afternoon of September 14, at the Government headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, special advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed Mr. Takebe Tsutomu's visit and work in Vietnam at a time when the two countries are organizing activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year 2013.

The Prime Minister expressed his delight at the strong and increasingly deep and substantial development of the Vietnam-Japan relationship, especially since the two countries agreed to elevate their relationship to a strategic partnership for the common development and prosperity of both countries and for peace and prosperity in Asia.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung highly appreciated the positive contributions of Mr. Takebe Tsutomu and the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union in strengthening and consolidating Vietnam-Japan relations in recent times, especially the idea of ​​the Vietnam-Japan University project that Mr. Takebe Tsutomu is promoting.

The Prime Minister hopes that Japan will soon have a specific proposal, including the issue of capital sources, so that this project can be considered for early implementation; he hopes that the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Union will continue to promote cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in all fields, especially increasing ODA capital for Vietnam, and implementing important cooperation projects that the two countries' senior leaders have agreed upon.

Thanking Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung for taking the time to meet him, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu, Special Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, expressed his joy at the comprehensive development in the Vietnam-Japan cooperative relationship.

Mr. Takebe Tsutomu said that the Vietnam - Japan University Project is in the stage of surveying, collecting and evaluating information, with the goal of establishing a multidisciplinary university, training undergraduate and postgraduate students to international standards, located in Hoa Lac High-Tech Park. Based on the assessment that training human resources will create a sustainable foundation, towards the future for the Vietnam - Japan Strategic Partnership, Mr. Takebe Tsutomu hopes that the Governments of the two countries will support and create conditions to accelerate the implementation of the Vietnam - Japan University project to become a symbol of the long-term friendship and cooperation between the two countries.../.
