Prime Minister hands over decision to appoint Deputy Head of Government Office
On October 22, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc presented the decision to appoint Deputy Head of the Government Office (VGO) to comrade Tran Van Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 14th National Assembly Delegation, Dien Bien province.

The Government Office is the advisory, synthesis, and support agency for the Government, the highest State administrative agency, assisting the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers in managing, directing, and operating all aspects of the country's socio-economic, defense, security, and foreign affairs, "from preventing and combating natural disasters, storms and floods to very specific matters in life". Praising the efforts of the collective leadership, cadres, civil servants, and public employees of the Government Office in the past time, "working day and night" with a large amount of work, the Prime Minister said that the Government's achievements have important contributions from the Government Office.

The Prime Minister expressed his belief that Comrade Tran Van Son will successfully complete the assigned tasks and hoped that the Government Office would continue to uphold its tradition, unite, and make more efforts in advising, proposing, and urging the implementation of work, especially in serving the 13th National Party Congress, the National Assembly session, and implementing socio-economic development plans. Taking the example of the storm and flood situation, the Prime Minister said that the Government Office is responsible for monitoring, synthesizing, advising, and proposing timely solutions to the issues that arise.

Considering that in recent times, Dien Bien, a province that has faced many difficulties, with a high rate of poor households, considered the "core of poverty" in the Northwest region, has achieved many positive results, the Prime Minister noted that the province has promoted the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, making people's lives increasingly prosperous, implementing projects and works to serve socio-economic development, especially the projects that the Prime Minister concluded at the working session with the province.
Once again, the Prime Minister hopes that the Government Office and Dien Bien province will maintain solidarity, "only with solidarity can we get things done".

Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung thanked the Prime Minister for praising the achievements and sharing the difficulties and hardships of the Government Office, and pledged that the Government Office will always be united and united, because "more leadership means more solidarity, more effort, more sharing, and shared responsibility to successfully complete the tasks of the Government Office". Currently, each year, the Government Office receives and processes 120,000-130,000 documents, implements 13,000 submissions, and issues over 26,000 documents. The Government Office chairs more than 200 meetings to handle issues with different opinions among ministries, branches, and localities.
Regarding the implementation of the Government and Prime Minister's directives, before the establishment of the Prime Minister's Working Group (August 19, 2016), overdue tasks accounted for 25.3%. Up to now, this figure is only below 2%. This result has spread to localities, ministries and branches. Accordingly, all provinces have established working groups to urge the implementation of tasks.
The Government Office has carried out a large amount of work in building e-Government, specifically putting into operation the National Public Service Portal, the National Document Interconnection Axis, the E-cabinet Meeting System... From the initial 8 public services, after nearly 11 months, up to now, the National Public Service Portal has provided more than 1,800 public services, about 80 million visitors, and 21 million records with synchronized status.
Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung affirmed that he will create the most favorable conditions with comrade Tran Van Son to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Government and Prime Minister.
Comrade Tran Van Son was born in 1961, from Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province, and is a construction economic engineer. Mr. Tran Van Son has held the following positions: Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Bach Dang Construction Corporation (Ministry of Construction), Deputy Minister of Construction. In March 2014, Mr. Tran Van Son was transferred by the Politburo to become Deputy Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee. In October 2015, Mr. Tran Van Son was elected to hold the position of Secretary of the Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee, term XIII, 2015-2020.
