Thuan Trung commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of 6 communes: Trung Son, Thuan Son, Lac Son, Xuan Son, Minh Son and Nhan Son, belonging to Do Luong district (old), with a natural area of ​​nearly 49,760 km2², population about 39,349 people.

In the agricultural sector, the commune has closed the area, not leaving any fallow land, promoting the conversion of crop and livestock structure, breed structure, and increasing economic value.

The most successful is converting low-lying rice fields and inefficient rice production into aquaculture, with a total output of more than 1,200 tons; building high-quality rice production models with a total of more than 190 hectares; promoting garden economic development with 69 models meeting farmer model garden standards; developing livestock farming in the direction of biosafety, of which 13 livestock farming models follow VietGAP; in the area there are 5 OCOP products.

Along with agricultural production, industry, handicrafts, services and trade are also encouraged by the Party Committee and the communal government, creating all conditions for development, with a total of 517 establishments, creating jobs and income for thousands of workers. In terms of services and trade alone, by 2025, the industry structure will reach 37.46% of the total production value of the commune.

In addition to economic efficiency, the development in the cultural and social fields has also been positive. In the area, there are 12 schools that meet national standards; of which, 8 schools meet level 1 standards and 4 schools meet level 2 standards; the commune meets national health standards. Notably, 6/6 communes continue to improve their standards after being recognized as meeting new rural standards, of which, 1 commune is recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards.
