Promoting tourism cooperation among Asian cities
On the morning of October 10, the 11th Annual Conference of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA) with the theme “Tourism - Power for Sustainable Development” opened in Hanoi.

Each year, the CPTA General Conference and sideline exhibition are held in rotation in a member city to evaluate the work that has been implemented, plan and agree on new project plans, propose solutions to promote the tourism industry of the CPTA network, improve the management effectiveness of State tourism management agencies, and promote cooperation between State tourism management agencies and organizations and businesses of member cities.
The agenda of this year's Conference will discuss the implementation of joint cooperation campaigns and projects such as: the "Welcome to Asia" campaign, the "One Asia Pass" project, and the "Enhancing Friendliness and Hospitality" campaign.
Mr. Masahiko Hosaka, Director of the Industry and Labor Division, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Chairman of CPTA, hopes that this year's conference will provide opportunities for member cities to participate in discussions and jointly propose solutions to contribute to enhancing promotional activities to attract tourists from markets around the world.
The conference took place over two days (October 10-11).
The 11th Annual Conference of CPTA was attended by representatives of the following cities: Tokyo (Japan), New Delhi (India), Seoul (Korea), Taipei (Taiwan-China), Jakarta (Indonesia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Bangkok (Thailand), Hanoi (Vietnam) and 2 observer cities: Ulanbator (Mongolia) and Tomsk (Russian Federation). |
