Promoting Vietnam – Denmark economic cooperation

On the afternoon of March 7, at the Government Headquarters, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Danish Minister of Trade and Investment Pia Olsen Dyhr, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed Minister Pia Olsen Dyhr to visit Vietnam and have useful meetings with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to promote comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, especially in areas where Denmark has strengths such as food technology, pharmaceuticals, shipbuilding, and climate change response.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked Denmark, one of the largest ODA providers to Vietnam and always supporting Vietnam in economic and trade relations with the EU, especially during Denmark's tenure as rotating President of the European Union (EU).

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam always considers Denmark one of the leading important economic and trade partners in Europe and asked Denmark to continue supporting Vietnam in negotiating the Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement, as well as the EU's early recognition of Vietnam's market economy status.

Thanking the Deputy Prime Minister for taking the time to receive the delegation, Minister Pia Olsen Dyhr affirmed that she will do her best to promote trade relations between the two countries, contributing to enhancing the cooperative relationship between the two countries to a new, practical and effective level.

The Danish Minister of Trade and Investment also proposed that the Vietnamese Government create favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms and policies for Danish businesses and investors to invest long-term and effectively in Vietnam.
