In the first months of the year, the whole province overcame difficulties, made efforts to synchronously and effectively implement solutions to direct and manage socio-economic development. The province focused on implementing well solutions to curb inflation, manage socio-economic development, promptly remove difficulties for enterprises, stabilize the macro-economy, and ensure social security. The growth rate of gross domestic product (GDP) in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 5.02% compared to the same period. The consumer price index (CPI) in the first 6 months of 2012 increased by 2.92% compared to December 2011.

In the first 6 months of the year, the value of agricultural, forestry and fishery production is estimated at 3,752.4 billion VND, up 1.09% over the same period. The Industrial Production Index (IIP) in the first 6 months of 2012 is estimated to increase by 7.86% over the same period. Service activities continue to develop. The allocation of construction investment projects is focused on. Investment promotion and business development activities are of interest. Budget revenue and expenditure have followed the set tasks. Budget revenue in the first 6 months of the year reached 2,508.88 billion VND, equal to 41.3% of the estimate and 60.1% over the same period. The cultural and social fields have many positive changes, national defense and security have been maintained.
In addition, the report pointed out the existence and limitations: the economic growth rate was low compared to the same period, the production and business situation faced many difficulties. A number of pressing social issues still exist such as the complicated drug crime situation, illegal mineral exploitation, the high rate of third child births, poor implementation of environmental pollution treatment, etc.
Delegates focused on discussing and analyzing the causes of existing problems and limitations, and discussed solutions to overcome difficulties in the face of many socio-economic difficulties.
Concluding the meeting, comrade Phan Dinh Trac agreed with the solutions proposed by the Provincial People's Committee. He emphasized: The province needs to carefully calculate to balance revenue and expenditure. Focus on removing difficulties for businesses that are holding on and producing and doing business effectively. Speed up the disbursement progress; request the Provincial People's Committee to direct and assign relevant departments and branches to send working groups to districts to review and guide issues in implementing policies for meritorious people; land issues; staffing and regimes for village and commune-level officials; slow health insurance, high birth rate; unified guidance and support for association officials; resolve complaints and denunciations. Organize meetings with scientists, doctors, teachers, artists from Nghe An inside and outside the province who were honored with honorary titles and awards from the State in 2012. Handle pressing issues at the grassroots level; pay attention to administrative reform and improve the responsibility of cadres and civil servants.
