It can be said that a remarkable result is that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has advised the Provincial People's Committee to plan high-tech agricultural zones and high-tech agricultural zones and has been permitted by the Government to build a high-tech agricultural zone in Nghia Dan. In particular, Nghe An is also one of the provinces and cities that have made many efforts in researching and introducing new technologies from the world into application, achieving remarkable results.

First of all, in terms of biotechnology, Nghe An is one of the leading provinces in applying advances in varieties; identifying varieties of corn, rice, and fruit trees suitable for the ecological region, with good productivity and quality. In particular, rice is the main crop that has shifted from high productivity to high quality in the direction of reducing poor quality hybrid rice, rapidly increasing the area of ​​purebred rice with good quality. Taiwanese passion fruit has been introduced, restoring specialty citrus varieties such as Xa Doai oranges and Quang Tien pink grapefruit. Regarding livestock, in addition to the cattle and pig herd improvement program, Australian and Japanese beef cattle breeds have been introduced, and some new pig and poultry breeds have high productivity, quality and good reproduction such as the 3-calf cow imported by Kieu Phuong enterprise. Or the Australian dairy cow breed imported by TH Group and Vinamilk all have an average milk yield of 40 - 45 liters of milk/cow/day, 1.5 - 2 times higher than that of old dairy cow breeds.

Along with that, improved production technology is applied quickly such as: 100% passion fruit varieties apply Taiwanese grafting technology, 100% industrial tea varieties and raw forestry tree varieties for production use cuttings method; apply and rapidly multiply the improved intensive farming process SRI, IPM in rice production; apply good agricultural production (VietGAP) in vegetable specialized areas; produce melons, green vegetables in greenhouses, net houses. Apply Israeli-style drip irrigation technology for some crops on hills such as: sugarcane, orange in sugarcane specialized areas, fruit trees Nghia Dan, Quy Hop. Livestock enterprises have received and implemented livestock breeding and disease prevention processes from advanced countries (Australia, New Zealand), imported and applied some advanced processing technologies in the world such as milk processing technology at TH Group and Vinamilk Dairy Joint Stock Company, MDF wood processing technology using European technology at May Forestry Joint Stock Company, passion fruit processing and some fruits at Na Foods Joint Stock Company; sugar production technology at Nghe An Sugarcane Company...

However, the results are still very modest and have many limitations. The biggest limitation is that the application of high technology in agriculture is still limited, and not synchronized from production to processing, preservation, and consumption (except TH Group, Vinamilk). Most of them only apply high technology at each stage, so the efficiency is not high. For example, Nghe An tea is among the top in the country in terms of productivity, but the processing technology is not high, leading to the main products being exported with low value and efficiency. Or in livestock farming, new breeds of Australian and Japanese cows and high-yield poultry have been introduced, but there are no high-tech industrial processing facilities, making consumption difficult. On the other hand, the application of high technology to the production of scattered, small-scale products, some of which are still at the form of model investment. The above problems lead to agricultural production in the province generally being fragmented, low quality, not creating large-scale concentrated agricultural products, not ensuring food safety and hygiene criteria...

Therefore, to promote the application of high technology in agriculture, the issue that needs to be addressed is to promptly overcome those weaknesses and limitations. To do so, in the coming time, Nghe An needs to do well 4 issues:

Firstly, review and supplement the planning of high-application agricultural zones for each agricultural product, creating a premise for attracting investment and creating a solid step.

Second, continue to pay attention to the application of biotechnology, combining the import of new varieties with new, modern, global technology for regular supplementation.

Third, synchronously apply high technology from production, care, disease management to processing, preservation and consumption.

Fourth, it is necessary to differentiate in choosing products with strengths for investment, overcoming the situation of spreading investment, doing everything but nothing is "good enough". In cultivation, focus on tea production and processing, improve the quality of Nghe An peanuts; synchronously apply technical technologies to safe vegetable and fruit growing areas (orange, passion fruit, grapefruit). For fruit trees, focus on investing in production processes, special care management, disease prevention, preservation and processing. In livestock, pay attention to the following issues: Importing new breeds, livestock technology, advanced disease management and attracting investment to have strong investors to invest in processing and consumption.

Fifth, promptly review, supplement, complete and issue strong enough policies to leverage land accumulation, support attracting strong and dedicated businesses to invest; support businesses to import new technologies and new varieties...
