Last year, the agricultural and rural development sector achieved quite comprehensive results. The restructuring of the sector was focused on and had many positive impacts on socio-economic development. Production grew at a higher rate. The new rural construction program was positively responded to by the people and achieved many encouraging results. Agricultural and rural infrastructure continued to receive investment attention. Policies on developing fisheries and marine economy associated with protecting national sovereignty were focused on. Most other sectors and activities of the sector had significant changes. The total export turnover of the sector reached nearly 31 billion USD, the growth rate of the sector reached 3.3%. In 2015, the sector advocated continuing to promote the construction of high value-added, efficient and sustainable agriculture on the basis of drastic implementation in the sector structure associated with new rural construction, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, increasing income and improving people's lives.

In 2014, Nghe An's agricultural sector carried out its tasks with many difficulties and challenges. However, thanks to timely and drastic direction and efforts of farmers, all three crops had good harvests and prices. The whole province produced 1.2 million tons of food, fisheries exploitation had many positive changes, offshore fishing boats were invested with modern machinery and equipment by fishermen, thanks to which the efficiency of fishing was highly effective. Forest protection and development work was well implemented. The national target program on new rural construction and other national target programs were strongly implemented and achieved many encouraging results.
