Lieutenant Colonel Pham Huu Lam, head of the Nam Can International Border Gate Border Guard Station, said: “In the work of propaganda and mass mobilization, the officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Station have proactively innovated and diversified the forms of propaganda so that the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws can reach all people. Especially the model of "Border Newsletter" with propaganda content that is easy to listen to, easy to remember, easy to understand, easy to implement, and suitable for the awareness of ethnic minorities". The Border Guard Station has coordinated with the village and hamlet authorities to build loudspeaker clusters suitable for the actual situation of each village, widely broadcasting information to the people; at the same time, taking advantage of the opinions of village elders, village officials and prestigious people to build propaganda programs.
With a radio schedule of broadcasting twice a week, each time for 30 minutes in the common language and Mong and Thai languages, the "Border News" of the Nam Can International Border Guard Station, in addition to informing about the political security situation, social order and safety, highlighting good people and good deeds, highlighting typical advanced examples in the area, also propagates and disseminates border regulations, documents related to residence, settlement as well as production and business activities in the border area and border gate area. Since November 2010, the news has been officially broadcast. Up to now, after more than 2 years, the "Border News" of the Nam Can International Border Guard Station has been regularly and on schedule in 5 villages of Nam Can commune. The propaganda activities of the "Border Newsletter" have contributed to raising awareness, guiding and orienting people to grasp the policies of the Party and the State, not to encroach on cultivation, encroachment and free migration, at the same time raising vigilance against the enemy's propaganda and distortion tricks, building cultural life in residential areas. Thanks to the impact of the newsletter, every year, people in the area have provided the border guard station with over 100 pieces of information related to security issues in the border area such as: The situation of free migration of some Mong households from the Northwest and the Central Highlands to the area; illegal Protestant preaching activities of some subjects, typically Cu Va Chua who went to the Central Highlands to do business, then returned to attract people to follow Protestantism, which were reported by people to the border guard station for timely prevention.
Along with propaganda and mass mobilization, Nam Can International Border Guard Station also coordinated with local authorities to help people build economic models such as raising cows in captivity, growing incense, lilies, raising black pigs, etc. The station also coordinated with the provincial and Ky Son district social policy banks to conduct surveys of 22 households to find ways to help build economic models, helping people borrow capital to develop their family economy. Up to now, the Social Policy Bank has disbursed over 400 million VND to households with the above models. In addition, the station's youth union also coordinated with Vinh University and the youth unions of Nam Can and Ta Ca communes to renew 4km of inter-village roads in Ta Ca; organized cultural and artistic exchange nights to integrate the contents of law propaganda, preventing drug trafficking, preventing incestuous marriage in the community, etc.
The border guard station helps the people of Tien Tieu village develop, and the lily growing model initially brings about effectiveness.
Effectively carry out mass mobilization work, build a strong people's position to keep the border area peaceful by practical and specific actions to gain people's trust. That is a remarkable achievement of the officers and soldiers of the Nam Can international border gate border post./.
