The truth about the information that the Organizing Committee's allowance is higher than the prize money of V.League 2017
(Baonghean.vn) - NFormer Chairman of the VPF Board of Directors, Mr. Vo Quoc Thang, said that the information that the tournament organizers' allowance was higher than the prize money for the 2017 season was an unfortunate mistake.
Mr. Cao Van Chong, Head of the Organizing Committee of V-League 2017, has just shared the thoughts of Mr. Vo Quoc Thang about the information that the allowance of the organizing committee is higher than the prize money for the 2017 season.
“This is a very unfortunate mistake. Firstly, VPF operates with annual audits by KPMG, one of the top 4 auditing firms in the world.
Second, VPF has 3 members of the Board of Directors who are VFF members. Third, the head of the VPF Supervisory Board is a VFF member. All revenues and expenditures of the General Director are approved by the operating regulations and the Board of Directors. The members of the Board of Directors have not received salaries from VPF in the past 6 years.

Personally, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, I have never used even a single penny of VPF's money, not even the airfare for meetings or transportation, and I have even supported VPF with tens of billions of dong during my tenure. The total monthly salary for VPF employees (from the General Director down) is only 300 million for a few dozen people. I am an administrator, so I always work in the spirit of spending correctly, sufficiently, and reasonably. Because VPF General Director Cao Van Chong is on a business trip to Japan, when he returns, he and former Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Pham Ngoc Vien will have a specific discussion with reporters to clarify the figures.
I think the documents that a certain shareholder provided may not have enough details, causing the reporter to have this unfortunate mistake. Our Board of Directors has been responsible for all activities of VPF for the past 6 years. And I believe that VPF does not have any financial problems. We only bring more money to VPF to better support the participating clubs, but never take money from VPF.
It is not entirely true that Toyota will no longer sponsor V.League. In the past few months, I have negotiated many times with Toyota representatives. Most recently, on November 20, I was still negotiating and had not reached any conclusion. In the past three years, we signed contracts with higher annual rates, so this time we are negotiating the same with Toyota representatives. However, according to Toyota representatives, we should not increase the sponsorship amount next year because of the difficult economic situation.

We have not yet finished negotiating the sponsorship amount, not that Toyota will no longer sponsor! I regret that the new VPF Board of Directors hastily spoke about this issue without discussing it with us, causing disadvantages for VPF. Right after the VPF shareholders' meeting on December 3, while my clients were waiting for me elsewhere, Mr. Pham Ngoc Vien and I still proactively stayed behind, looking forward to meeting directly with the new Board of Directors to share some work.
There has been no handover, while the new Board of Directors has received vague information from somewhere and hastily announced that Toyota will no longer sponsor. The important thing is that the information about how much Toyota sponsors V-League has been signed by VPF as confidential, but now it has been made public, which makes me very regretful because it could cause many difficulties for VPF.
I just talked to Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc that next year, even though we have retired from VPF and VFF, we will contribute to Vietnamese football together. But reading this erroneous information, as if I used VPF money for an unknown purpose, makes me feel very shocked. Everyone knows what kind of person I am in football for the past decades. I am not ashamed of trying to contribute and dedicate to Vietnamese football during my 6 years as Chairman of the Board of Directors of VPF.
Despite the advantages and disadvantages, I see that the organization of VPF and the stadium organizing committee is getting better and better. More than ten years ago, I went to Portugal to learn how the 4th division club in this country did things, then returned to build a place to live and practice for Dong Tam Long An Club in Ben Luc, and was highly praised by VFF.
However, now it is even the worst in Vietnam and I plan to rebuild it. No matter how bad the stadiums in Vietnam were in the past, they have changed now, from the grass to the functional rooms, everything has been improved a lot. The facilities of the clubs are also getting better day by day. And when entering the stadium, the spectators now litter less, smoke less. That is the change that everyone recognizes."
