The truth about the information that SLNA lacks licensing criteria
(Baonghean.vn) - Some recent sources said that SLNA is at risk of not being able to participate in V.League 2022 because it does not meet the licensing criteria. However, this information is not accurate.
Recently, the VFF Licensing Board met and reviewed and re-examined the list of football teams that meet or do not meet the licensing criteria. Accordingly, there are 11 V.League clubs licensed to participate in Asian tournaments in 2022. Including: HAGL, Viettel, Nam Dinh, Thanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Hanoi FC, Da Nang FC, Ha Tinh, Ho Chi Minh City Club, Saigon FC, Hai Phong.

Accordingly, the 3 teams that were not licensed include Binh Dinh, SLNA, and Than Quang Ninh because these 3 teams still lack some licensing criteria set by AFC. If Than Quang Ninh Club violates the financial criteria, Binh Dinh Club is considered to lack the criteria for youth training. SLNA has both of these criteria as well as other criteria.
However, SLNA still lacks one criterion, which is facilities. Specifically, according to Decision 288/QD-LĐBĐVN issued on October 7, SLNA does not meet the requirements for a stadium approved to host club-level tournaments of the AFC and the Vietnam Football Federation.

The reason is that Vinh Stadium is currently in the process of upgrading and renovating. The Vinh Stadium renovation project is entering important stages and is fully in time to meet the criteria to be able to organize domestic matches in the 2022 season and Asian matches in the future.
The decision of the Vietnam Football Federation also means that SLNA will not be able to participate in tournaments organized by the AFC. In fact, in the 2022 season, the Nghe An team will not participate in any continental tournaments.
Because recently, the VFF Executive Committee has issued a resolution: "Stop and do not continue to organize national professional football tournaments in 2021 due to the developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, including V.League from the 13th round, the First Division football tournament from the 8th round and the National Cup from the 1/8 round. The VFF Executive Committee does not recognize collective and individual titles according to the Regulations of the above tournaments. Promotion and relegation in the V-League and the First Division are not applied. Based on the professional results of the clubs up to the end of round 12 of the V-League 2021, it will be the basis for reporting to the AFC in determining Vietnamese representatives to participate in club-level tournaments".
