According to initial information, at around 1:30 a.m. on July 8, Nguyen Trong Giap (29 years old, residing in Duc Le A village, Duc Manh commune, Dak Mil district, Dak Nong province) was having a late-night snack with some friends at a porridge shop in residential group 4, Dak Mil town, Dak Mil district, when suddenly a group of young men wearing masks and covering their faces on motorbikes approached and pulled out weapons to attack.

One of these subjects used an electric baton to attack Giap, causing him to run away. However, this subject chased after him and used a weapon to stab Giap, causing him to collapse on the spot.

However, during the scuffle between the two sides, one of the attackers was also beaten by Giap and seriously injured. This subject was then taken away from the scene by his accomplices on a motorbike. Giap was taken to the emergency room by everyone but died on the way to the hospital due to severe injuries.

Immediately after receiving the report, the Dak Nong Provincial Police arrived to conduct a crime scene investigation, autopsy, and take statements from witnesses. Using professional measures, the Dak Nong Provincial Police identified the suspect involved in the incident as Pham Ba Thang, so they arrested him.

At the investigation agency, Thang initially confessed: Because there had been a previous conflict between Thang and Giap, he hired a group of gangsters including Nguyen Dinh Ha (30 years old), Pham Van Kieu (25 years old) and Phan Van Xin (24 years old, all residing in Nghe An province) to go to Dak Mil district with the purpose of beating Giap as a warning.

Accordingly, after contacting the above group, on the night of July 7, Thang met all 3 of these subjects and gave them a motorbike and 2 knives with the instruction that if he met Giap, he should beat him up and cut his leg tendons. To help this group recognize Giap, Thang also asked his friend Ha Khanh Cuong (residing in Dak Mil district) to point him out. At around 1:30 a.m. on July 8, when the group received information that Giap was eating porridge in Dak Mil town, they went there to kill him.

In another case, after one of the subjects involved in the assassination of Giap was seriously injured, his accomplices took him home and then drove him to Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province for emergency treatment, but he died on the way to the hospital.

Through initial verification by the investigation agency, the deceased was identified as Pham Van Kieu. After Kieu died, the group rented a car from Mr. D.PT (39 years old, residing in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province) to transport Kieu's body to his hometown in Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province.

Upon receiving information that the group was fleeing back to their hometown, Dak Nong Provincial Police informed several police departments in the Central provinces about the vehicle's identification features and license plate number to intercept and arrest them. At around 11 p.m. on July 9, when Ha Tinh Provincial Police were stationed in Ky Anh District, Ha Tinh Province, they discovered the vehicle and proceeded to stop it.

However, at this time, there was only the driver D.PT and the body of Pham Ba Kieu in the car. According to Mr. T., he was hired by two other young men to take Kieu's body to Nghe An province. When leaving, both young men went with him, but when they reached Quang Binh province, they got out of the car and left.

According to Dak Nong Provincial Police, the Investigation Agency is actively consolidating the case file to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused according to regulations.
