Branding increases business value
(Baonghean) - Nghe An currently has over 13,400 registered businesses, but many businesses face difficulties in building their brands.
Currently, the construction and development of brands of enterprises in the area still has many limitations, the number of enterprises with brands is very small. Even some products of enterprises have brands, but the risk of losing the brand if not invested to maintain and develop.
According to the Department of Science and Technology, by July 2015, the total number of protected objects in the province was 618, including 11 inventions, 5 utility solutions, 33 designs and 569 trademarks. Thus, the number of registered and protected product trademarks is too modest compared to the number of registered enterprises.

According to the assessment of managers, consumers and experts, currently in Nghe An province, there are a number of branded products and services chosen by consumers in and outside the province such as: Construction industry products including Hoang Mai Cement (PCB40, PC40), Trung Do granite tiles; Cua Tiles; Dinh Nhan storm-proof brackets, Hoa Sen corrugated iron... In addition to brands in the fields of industry, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, brands in the fields of tourism services, transportation, healthcare, health care, education and training, sanitation, environment... have also been formed and developed. Brands with geographical names have contributed to promoting the image of Nghe An to the world, thereby attracting tourists, investors, domestic and foreign enterprises to Nghe An to invest in production and business...
Mr. Vo Van Dai, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Van Phan Dien Chau Seafood Joint Stock Company shared: Determining that product quality determines the survival of the enterprise, we have applied the ISO 22,000: 2005 Food Safety Quality Management System to production, improving the quality and competitiveness of the products. Currently, Van Phan Seafood Joint Stock Company is implementing the project "Creating, managing and developing the "Van Phan Fish Sauce" certification mark for fish sauce products of Dien Chau district, Nghe An province" sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Department of Science and Technology of Nghe An.

The Ao Dai Thien Nga brand (Vinh City) has existed in the hearts of customers for decades, but in reality, "Ao Dai Thien Nga" still does not have a trademark. Currently, in the context of increasingly fierce business competition, Ms. Hoang Thien Nga, the owner of the Ao Dai shop, has urgently promoted the registration of a trademark for her products.
Normally, to develop a brand, a budget of 500 million VND or more is needed. This is a considerable expense for businesses in the province. Discussing this issue, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Deputy Head of the Department of Finance and Planning of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: "Comparing the number of businesses in the area and the number of trademarks recognized by the Department of Intellectual Property, it shows that most businesses in Nghe An are not interested in protecting their property, or perhaps many businesses are not aware of "what needs to be done". Therefore, the Department of Industry and Trade needs to have a plan to increase training for businesses to be aware of trademark registration as well as brand building policies to protect their intellectual property rights".
