"The militants fired shells filled with chemical agents at Aleppo. Trump and Macron promised to strike, bomb and launch missiles at those using chemical weapons in Syria," the Russian senator reiterated.

However, according to him, "we should not expect such attacks from the Western alliance on terrorist bases, nor should we expect a declaration of outrage at the United Nations."

Earlier, the Syrian newspaper al-Watan reported that in the Syrian city of Aleppo the number of victims injured by militants firing bullets containing poison has reached 65.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, announced that 46 people, including 8 children, had suffered injuries from chemical agents. According to preliminary data, the shells fired at this area were filled with chlorine.
