According to him, this is clearly demonstrated by the presence of a large number of high-ranking politicians at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
“The presence of the Chinese leader, the UN secretary-general and heads of several European countries at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum makes it a major political event.
As several thousand people gathered in St. Petersburg, the word “isolation” fell into oblivion. Perhaps only retired President Barack Obama was whispering these words sadly in his pillow,” the senator wrote.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 will take place on June 6-8. The forum has been held since 1997, since 2006 - under the patronage and with the participation of the President of Russia.
The forum is a platform for business representatives to discuss key economic issues facing Russia, emerging markets and the world in general. Last year, the forum was attended by 17 thousand guests from 143 countries.
