On the afternoon of July 31, the Ha Tinh Border Guard and the Bolykhamxay Provincial Police (Laos) held a summary meeting of Project 466 LV and received commendation decisions from the Prime Minister; Ministry of National Defense; Border Guard Command and local authorities.

Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, Commander of the Border Guard; Major General Nguyen Canh Hien, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard; Major General Le Nhu Duc, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of the Border Guard; Representatives of the leaders of Military Region 4; Provincial Party Committee; People's Committee of Ha Tinh province; Leaders of Ha Tinh provincial Police; Leaders of Bolykhamxay province (Laos) attended.

The conference was held to draw experience in the coordination of drug prevention and control between the Ha Tinh Border Guard and the Bolykhamxay Provincial Police (Laos) in the recent project. At the same time, it announced and awarded the forces participating in the fight against the project.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet, Commander of the Border Guard, emphasized: Up to now, Vietnam and Laos have had a special friendship in the struggle for liberation and national construction. In the current period, the people and governments of Vietnam and Laos always agree to build a border between the two countries of special peace and friendship. The fight against all types of crime, especially cross-border drug crimes, has always been given special attention by the border protection forces of the two countries, and Project 466 LV is a typical example.

Lieutenant General Vo Trong Viet affirmed that Project 466 LV was successful in hitting the center of drug trafficking criminals. The coordination in fighting against all types of crimes between the Ha Tinh Border Guard and Bolykhamxay Provincial Police can be replicated in other localities on the Vietnam - Laos border. In particular, the project ended successfully when the fighting force was absolutely safe.

The Border Guard Commander also emphasized that in the coming time, the activities of transnational drug crimes will continue to have many complicated developments, so the forces of the two countries need to unite more to effectively fight against all types of crimes, and not let subjective thoughts arise while performing their duties.

Also at the conference, representatives of Bolykhamxay province and Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee commended the achievements of Project 466 LV.

With the above achievements, Project 466 LV was honored to receive a Letter of Commendation from Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung; General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defense, also sent a Letter of Commendation to the officers and soldiers participating in the investigation; 1 group and 5 individuals participating in the Project were awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of National Defense; 1 individual and 6 groups were awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Border Guard Command; 9 individuals were awarded a Certificate of Merit by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province; 9 individuals of the Border Guard of Ha Tinh were awarded the Security Medal by the Lao Ministry of Security.

The Border Guard Command has also proposed that all levels award the First Class Military Exploit Order to the Ha Tinh Border Guard Command and Lieutenant Colonel Vo Trong Hai, Commander of the Ha Tinh Border Guard; the Second Class Military Exploit Order to Colonel Nguyen Manh Thuong, Deputy Commander of the Ha Tinh Border Guard; the Third Class Military Exploit Order to Major Nguyen Ngoc Nguyen, Chief of the Cau Treo Border Guard Station; and the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giap, Deputy Head of the PCTPMT Office of the Ha Tinh Border Guard;

As reported on July 23, 2015, the joint forces of the Ha Tinh Border Guard and the Bolykhamxay Provincial Police (Laos) successfully fought Project 466 LV, arresting 11 subjects and seizing 5.5 tons of drugs.
