Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong emphasized this at the National Conference summarizing the work of inspection, supervision and Party discipline enforcement.
In 2019, 14 party organizations and 171 party members were disciplined.
On the morning of January 10, the Central Inspection Commission held a national conference to review the Party's inspection, supervision and discipline enforcement work in 2019 and deploy tasks for 2020.
The report at the conference said that in 2019, through inspection work, Party committees at all levels discovered 561 Party organizations and 923 Party members with shortcomings; 14 Party organizations and 171 Party members had to be disciplined.
Since the beginning of the 12th term, the quality and effectiveness of inspection and supervision have been gradually improved, including many difficult, complicated and serious cases; creating a spillover effect. Party committees and inspection committees at all levels have disciplined 1,111 party organizations, 1,265 party committee members at all levels and 554,573 party members, of which the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat have disciplined 8 party organizations and 45 party members, the Central Inspection Committee has disciplined 126 party members...
According to the assessment of Politburo member, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong, qThrough inspection and supervision, we have gradually identified "the state of degradation in political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle of a not small number of cadres and party members".

According to the Standing Secretariat, the Central Inspection Commission and the Inspection Commissions at all levels have clarified and handled violations by cadres and party members, including those holding high positions in the Party and State, generals of the armed forces, and both incumbent and retired cadres. The process of reviewing and handling the cases has ensured fairness, accuracy, timeliness, and "reasonableness".
Taking advantage of the congress to make false accusations
Politburo member and Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong said that 2020 is a year of special importance. The work of Party building and rectification in the coming time requires stronger efforts, focusing on fighting and preventing weaknesses and negativity in the Party, especially the degradation and corruption among a number of cadres, party members and civil servants.
"Focus on handling petitions and cases, ensuring compliance with regulations, serving well the preparation for the Party Congresses at all levels and the 13th Central Committee's personnel; resolutely fight against the situation of taking advantage of congress organization to make false accusations, causing internal disunity, affecting the congress's personnel. At the same time, continue to promote propaganda work to create high unity in awareness and action of Party committees, Party organizations, cadres and Party members in inspection work" - the Standing Secretariat emphasized.

Accordingly, Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong suggested focusing on building a team of inspection officers to meet the requirements of the tasks in the new situation. Officers doing inspection work must always maintain their mettle, have the courage to fight, must be honest, upright, fair, and impartial in fighting against violations and negativity in the Party; must constantly improve their qualifications and knowledge, especially in the context of current scientific and technological development./.
