Standing Secretariat: Poor management leads to gambling incident in Hai Phong
Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong said that there are still "weaknesses and loopholes" in management from the grassroots level that led to the gambling incident involving all Chinese people.
On August 2 in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" held a Conference to review 10 years of implementing the Campaign to evaluate the results of the past period and propose tasks and solutions for the coming period.

At this conference, Mr. Tran Quoc Vuong mentioned the lesson from grassroots management after the incident of nearly 400 Chinese people gambling in an urban area in Hai Phong: "Here, there is the responsibility of the government, of the Party Committee, of the grassroots management sectors and the responsibility of the locality. In Hai Phong, there has just been an incident where hundreds of foreigners have been involved in criminal activities for a long time.
This is a feat of the police force. But through this, we can clearly see our loopholes and weaknesses. If this situation continues to happen, it will be very dangerous. Management from the grassroots level is a lesson left by our ancestors."
The Standing Secretariat also asked local leaders to pay attention and learn from this incident.
"We won the resistance wars, built socialism, and ensured security thanks to our strength from the grassroots" - Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong clearly stated.
Regarding the case of a group of Chinese people gambling with a total amount of more than 10,000 billion VND in Hai Phong, on August 1, the authorities deported and extradited nearly 400 subjects to hand over to the Chinese police.
