VFF Standing Committee supports plan to organize play-off match for 2014 season

Today (April 18), the VFF Standing Committee chaired by Chairman Le Hung Dung held a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City. During this meeting, the Standing Committee discussed and unanimously supported the VPF's proposal to organize a play-off match for the 2014 season between the 12th ranked team in the V-League and the 3rd ranked team in the First Division.

The VFF Standing Committee met in Ho Chi Minh City and made many important decisions.

As reported, before the V.NB team withdrew from the tournament due to a series of negative players in the AFC Cup, VPF and the teams participating in the V-League met and agreed that the tournament still has relegation slots to ensure the attractiveness. The relegation slots will be decided through the 2014 season play-off match between the 12th ranked team in the V-League and the 3rd ranked team in the First Division.

The Standing Committee has agreed to consult the Executive Committee on this issue. If the Executive Committee approves, the 2014 season will have a play-off match. This will help give the teams more motivation to compete during the remaining time of the season.

Also related to the management of the 2014 season, this afternoon, the VFF Standing Committee had a meeting with the leaders of the Referee Board. The Standing Committee reviewed the regulations and procedures for assigning tasks of the Referee Board to improve the quality and image of the referee team.

The VFF Standing Committee also agreed on the policy that sensitive matches at the end of the season can be officiated by foreign referees. The VFF Standing Committee assigned the Referee Committee to make a specific report and coordinate with the VPF to make appropriate proposals.
