Lieutenant General Le Chiem inspects crime prevention work in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - On January 23, Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense inspected the work of preventing crime, smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in Nghe An.
Also attending were representatives of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense, Border Guard Command, Military Region 4 Command and Coast Guard Command.

Over the past year, Nghe An Border Guard has proactively established and successfully fought 10 special projects; investigated and handled 190 cases, 241 subjects, and issued decisions to handle administrative violations with a total fine of VND 872,860,000.
In the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and illegal transportation of goods across the border, Nghe An Border Guard force has detected, arrested, and handled: 15 cases/15 subjects transporting and storing illegal firecrackers, confiscating 108 kg of firecrackers; 29 cases/22 subjects transporting illegal forest products: confiscating 73,549 m3wood of all kinds; 4 cases/5 subjects buying, storing, using explosives: seized 68kg of explosives, 602 detonators, 6m of slow-burning wire...

In addition, the unit has proactively coordinated with the Police, Coast Guard, Customs, Forest Rangers, Market Management Department, Fisheries Department, and cooperated with functional forces of Laos... to improve work efficiency.
Concluding the inspection, Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem highly appreciated the results achieved by the officers and soldiers of Nghe An Border Guard in the past time. At the same time, he requested that the unit should proactively coordinate better with other forces to effectively combat and prevent the activities of criminal networks and gangs; smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, especially firecrackers during the upcoming Lunar New Year.
