Russian Senate approves space cooperation agreement with Vietnam
According to Russian news agency ITAR-TASS, on July 9, the Federation Council (Upper House) of Russia ratified the intergovernmental agreement signed with Vietnam on cooperation in research and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

The Agreement aims to establish a legal and organizational basis for the development and implementation of cooperation programmes in specific areas related to the research and use of outer space and the application of space techniques and technologies for peaceful purposes.
The Agreement regulates issues of intellectual property protection, protection and exchange of information, certification of use and regulation of use in the territory of the importing country, products and technologies protected by intellectual property rights subject to export supervision, dispute settlement provisions as well as issues of liability and compensation for damage.
Under the agreement, the transport of goods specifically intended for space cooperation purposes through the border gate will be duty-free.
On the same day, July 9, the Russian Federation Council also ratified a similar agreement signed with Nicaragua./.
