Sweden holds minute of silence for truck attack victims
(Baonghean.vn)- On April 10, Swedish authorities observed a minute of silence for the victims of last week's truck terrorist attack that killed four people and injured 15 others.
A moment of silence was held outside Stockholm City Hall, with grey skies and flags at half-mast. It was attended by Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven, King Carl XVI Gustaf and most of the royal family, as well as other representatives of society.

After a minute of silence, the Swedish military band played a solemn piece, after which Stockholm Mayor Karin Wanngard gave a speech.
“We will never succumb to violence,” Mr. Wanngard said in his speech. “We will not let terrorism win. Stockholm will always be an open and tolerant city.”
Meanwhile, addressing the families of the victims, Prime Minister Lofven said, “You are never alone, we are always thinking of you. All of Sweden stands with you.”
In the April 7 terrorist attack, the attacker hijacked a beer truck and drove it through a crowded neighborhood in central Stockholm before crashing into the Ahlens grocery store, killing four people and injuring 15 others.

Outside the grocery store, a crowd of people also observed a moment of silence.
The motive for the crime remains unclear, but the method of attack is similar to previous terrorist attacks in London, Berlin and Nice, all claimed by the IS terrorist group.
