Swiss investment in Vietnam reaches over 2 billion USD
The event of Roche Diagnostics officially establishing a limited liability company marked a new investment milestone of Swiss enterprises in Vietnam.
Roche Diagnostics Vietnam contributes to people's health care
On June 8, Roche Diagnostics, the world leader in in vitro diagnostics, officially established Roche Diagnostics Limited Liability Company (LLC) in Vietnam. The investment certificate was approved and issued by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Andrej Motyl, Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam said: “I am pleased to see Roche Diagnostics, a leading Swiss company and a world leader in the field of diagnostics, creating innovation in healthcare services in Vietnam and making a difference to the lives of the community. Roche Diagnostics joins the group of Swiss companies, bringing the total investment capital in Vietnam to over 2 billion USD. The highlight and commendable thing about Swiss companies is that they not only bring products and services but also provide opportunities for domestic talents to exchange knowledge and skills”.
The company specializes in providing healthcare professionals and patients in Vietnam with the most advanced and high-quality diagnostic products and services for early detection, diagnosis, assessment and monitoring of diseases. It is one of the first few multinational healthcare companies to receive an Investment Certificate in Vietnam.
Expressing his joy, Mr. Rod Ward, General Director of Roche Diagnostics Vietnam Co., Ltd. said: “The issuance of the LLC Establishment License is an important and meaningful event for Roche Diagnostics. We started from a representative office and have grown in parallel with the development of this country over the years. In the future, Roche Diagnostics Vietnam Co., Ltd. will strengthen close cooperation with the government, laboratories, medical professionals and other partners to improve the health and quality of life of the Vietnamese people.”
With the population growth in Vietnam, the best disease control is as important as economic development. Therefore, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan - Director of the Department of Medical Equipment and Construction, Ministry of Health expects: "Roche Diagnostics will continue to provide advanced diagnostic products and solutions to help Vietnam control diseases as well as use medical resources more effectively".
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh - Director of Bach Mai Hospital affirmed: Accurate diagnosis helps effective treatment, shortens treatment time and contributes to reducing costs for patients. With the support of Roche, Bach Mai Hospital has now become a prestigious training center for medical staff.
According to Mr. Quoc Anh, in 2011, Bach Mai maintained the milestone of 1 million outpatients, with great support from Roche. “Roche installed for us the cobas 8,000 system (immune assay analyzer system) which contributed to returning test results in the fastest time, helping our hospital succeed in its career of striving to protect people's health.”
Recently, Roche Diagnostics Vietnam Co., Ltd. has cooperated with a number of hospitals to launch the first chain of specialized clinics for chronic heart patients in Vietnam. Through the clinics, healthcare professionals can now provide clear advice and guidance to patients who are using anticoagulants and need regular monitoring.../.
