Usain Bolt was able to leave Daegu in glory after setting a new world record in the 4x100m relay with his Jamaican teammates, with a time of 37.04 seconds, on the final day of the World Athletics Championships. This was Bolt's second gold medal in Daegu this time, after the gold medal in his forte 200m, helping him erase the sadness of failing in the 100m due to a false start.t.

The world record that Bolt and his teammates achieved was also the only record in the 9 days of the 13th World Athletics Championships. Before that, people had expected Bolt to continue to break his own world record in the 100m distance (currently 9.58 seconds), especially when direct competitors such as Tyson Gay and Asafa Powell were both absent due to injury.

However, Bolt's error of starting before the starting gun caused him to be eliminated from the final race, and he had to bitterly watch the gold medal fall to his young teammate Yohan Blake with a time of 9.92 seconds, far below Bolt's record. But anyway, Bolt finally regained his reputation with a gold medal in the 200m and now a world record in the 4x100m relay.

With Powell absent, Bolt was tasked with running the final lap for Jamaica at a major tournament for the first time. And he did not disappoint, playing a key role in helping his team break the previous record they had set at the Beijing Olympics three years earlier, which was 34.10 seconds.

The 4x100m final featured three teams: Jamaica, France and Saint Kitts & Nevis. Jamaica’s most formidable opponents, the United States, were eliminated in the previous round, a defeat that further demonstrated the decline of the team that had produced legends such as Carl Lewis, Michael Johnson and most recently Tyson Gay.

However, the Americans also got revenge in the women's event when the girls of the land of the flag won the 4x100m relay against the girls of Jamaica.

The U.S. team, consisting of Bianca Knight, Allyson Felix, Marshevet Myers and Carmelita Jeter, finished first with a time of 41.56 seconds. Carmelita Jeter had earlier won the women's 100m, helping the U.S. win the overall title in Daegu.

In total, the US ranked first in the overall rankings with 12 gold medals, three more than Russia, while Kenya surprisingly took third place with seven gold medals.

Kenyans completely dominated the middle distances, and their seventh gold medal came in the marathon on the final day of competition with men's Abel Kirui winning in 2 hours, 7 minutes and 38 seconds.

At the World Athletics Championships in Daegu, Vietnamese athlete Truong Thanh Hang also participated in the 800m, but she failed in the first round and did not reach the Olympic "B" standard. From now until July next year, Hang must reach the B standard to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.

In the final of the women's 800m event mentioned above, South African athlete Caster Semenya - whose gender was suspected - was also unable to defend her championship title when she only finished second, behind Russian athlete Mariya Savinova.
